AI Joi: A companion glossary
Plain definitions for the words around a fictional exchange.
Persona
A written identity or style presented by a system. A persona may include an invented name, age and interests; it is not proof of a real individual or consciousness.
Prompt
The message or instruction that starts or directs an exchange. In fiction, a prompt can describe a place and ask one question without sharing real personal details.
Scene
An imagined situation with participants, a setting and room for something to happen. All participants in scenes inspired by this site should be adults.
Companion concept
An editorial character profile used for browsing or inspiration. The concept is distinct from whether any exact persona is available at a destination.
Generated response
Text produced by software. Fluency does not establish accuracy, understanding, genuine feelings or professional competence.
Provider
The operator of a service. Its published terms, pricing and data practices determine the conditions of using that service, not what a fictional voice says.
Retention and deletion
Retention describes how long data may be kept. Deletion controls can have limits or exceptions; check a provider’s current policy rather than assuming the meaning from a button label.
Editorial label
A name used to organise content within the showcase. The five names do not imply five separate verified products.
